3 Cups Sugar 3/4 C/ light Karo syrup 1 Cup Boiling water Pinch Salt 3 Egg whites (stiffly beaten) 3/4 Teaspoon Vanilla |

Slowly bring sugar, water, syrup, & salt to a boil. Cook to hard ball stage. Pour over egg whites and beat till it starts to thicken. Add vanilla. Beat til stiff enough to drop onto wax paper. NOTE: This is a very old recipe handed down to me by my grandmother. She always said that divinity will not "set" if the weather is very humid (ie rainy). I have tested this theory, and it is true Nuts can be added with the vanilla if desired. |
