Cranberry Cookies

1 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. margarine or butter, softened
3 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 c. cranberries, coarsely chopped
1/4 c. milk
1 egg
2 tbsp. orange juice 
1 c. nuts, chopped

Heat oven to 375 degrees.  Mix together 
sugars and margarine.  Stir in milk, orange 
juice and eggs.  Stir in remaining ingredients.  
Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto greased cookie 
sheet (2 inches apart).  Bake until cookies are 
light brown, 10 to 15 minutes.  Cool and spread 
with glaze.    

BROWNED  BUTTER  GLAZE
1/3 c. margarine or butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 to 4 tbsp. hot water

Heat 1/3 cup margarine or butter over low 
heat until golden brown; cool slightly.  
Stir in 2 cups powdered sugar, add 1-1/2 
teaspoons vanilla.  Beat in 2 to 4 tablespoons 
of hot water until smooth and desired consistency.
