Chocolate Fudge Candy

2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cocoa (baking cocoa)
1/2 c. milk or cream
1/3 c. white syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. nuts

Mix sugar and cocoa. Add syrup and milk. Heat slowly until mixture is dissolved. Boil until it forms a soft ball when tried in cold water. Add butter and vanilla and remove from fire to cool. Then beat until mixture is creamy. Add nuts. Pour onto buttered platter and cut into squares.
