1/2 C. butter 1 C. brown sugar 1 C. light molasses 1 egg, beaten 4 C. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ground cloves 1/2 tsp. nutmeg |

Cream butter and sugar. Blend in molasses and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together and stir into molasses-egg mixture. Roll dough out on a lightly floured board and cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Bake on greased cookie sheets in 350ºF oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
