Dried grapes are raisins and have been around a
long time. They were probably discovered by someone accidentally when
the some sweet grapes died out. At one time they were used like honey
to sweeten foods. Although low in
saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium they are high in calories. About one
cup of raisins is equal to about 7-8 cups of fresh grapes. Raisins are in
iron, potassium. Raisins are usually sun dried but can be dehydrated.
Several sources including Paul Harvey have
stated that soaking a pound of Golden Raisins in 1/2 pint of good quality
gin is good for arthritis. Pour the gin over the raisins. Leave out on
counter until all gin has been absorbed. After gin has been absorbed keep
raisins in refrigerator. Eat 9 raisins a day and it is said to help
with MS and arthritis. As with all new treatments of any kind please
consult your doctor first. Caution: Don't eat these gin soaked raisins and
drive.
